From Machine Learning to Mechanisms: Functional Predictions in Genomics and Medicine

New repository for algorithms trained on genomic data

Oliver Stegle and Julien Gagneur are authors of a new publication in Nature Biotechnology. They have developed a repository providing free centralised access to machine learning models trained in genomic data analysis. The paper demonstrates how the Kipoi repository will accelerate knowledge exchange in the genomics community by providing free access to more than 2000 trained predictive machine learning models.

MechML consortium meeting took place in Munich

The first MechML consortium meeting took place at the Institute of Computational Biology on may 21,2019. During the day, each partner presented their current status of the project, challenges and their ideas of new collabortations within the consortium. In an interactive discussion session at the end of the day, different new working groups were formed which will cooperate in the future.
